Kermit is named for his cute, green persona! He is a David Brown VAK1C Cropmaster (Circa 1945.)
Kermit is situated nearby our local war memorial, the place where we remember those who have served us in War. On November 11, 2021, the Shire of Gnowangerup added "Digger" and developed 'Kermit" into a tribute to our returned soldiers.
Many of the returned servicemen and women who supported them around this district took up land allocations after WW2 These farmers cleared and worked the land using machinery similar to Kermit. A farmer's tractor is like his Horse! These men are responsible for the agricultural development of our region.
Opposite Kermit is our town Information Bay with a safe place to stop, lots of maps and drinking water.
The town entry signs you passed earlier are the work of artist Jenny Packard (nee: Beeck), originally born and bred in Gnowangerup, now of nearby Badgebup.
Kermit was restored by John & John Jr. Byrne of Mt Trio. The purchase of "Kermit" was by our local Agronomy specialists "Stirling Ag".
